Bastrop County, Texas Blog

Ok, I'm joing this century and creating a blog about Bastrop County, Texas and genealogy related things.  Not sure how often I'll post things but if you don't know, here's the link to the main TxGenWeb site

    I'm a Mertz descendant and recently saw the online historical site of the Mertz House in Bastrop.     I have not been able to find info online about which Mertz or the historical plaque info to go with it. Can anyone help? The only relatives I know of were Christian J. Mertz and Emma (Laake) that lived in Bastrop County.
